Ram Navami is the birthday of Lord Ram, known as the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Ramnavami is celebrated every year on Chaitra Shukranavami (his ninth day of the Hindu lunar month Chaitra's bright fortnight). In some temples Sriramanavami is celebrated from the first day of Chaitra Navratri to his nine days. Also, people continue to fast on this day.
