Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, Jagannath Ras Yatra is a very important festival for Hindus held annually at Jagannath Temple Puri. This Ras Yatra is celebrated with great fervor and vivacity in Puri, Orissa. Jagannath Prirath Yatra is commemorated on his second day (Dwitiya) of Shukra Paksha in the month of Ashda. The festival marks Lord Jagannath's annual visit to the famous Gunditya Mata Temple. This is a very famous festival all over the world where people from different parts of the world gather to witness the Lat Yatra. Chariots are depicted in the Ratha Yatra, which consists of races in which chariots are depicted. Gundicha temples are believed to be washed by devotees the day before the Ratha Yatra, and this ceremony is called Gundicha Marjana. Jagannatratayatra in 2017 is his 25th June. This yatra is usually celebrated in June or July.
