Holika Dahan, the first day of the 2023 festival, is observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Farghan. The next day, the Festival of Colors (also known as Durendi, Durandi or Duli) is celebrated. Holi celebrations mark the victory of good over evil.

Rule
Horashtak according to the Holika Dahan Scripture applies from his 8th day of the bright half moon of Farghan until the full moon of Farghan. During this eight days, all promising tasks are prohibited. On  Purnima (full moon), a bonfire ceremony is performed by Holika Dahan. This ritual has her two main rules.
1. Bhadra should not prevail on this day. Vishtikaran (one of his of the 11 Karans) is another name for Bhadra. One Karan is equal to half a titi.
2. Purnima should predominate in Pradoshkar. In other words, Purnima should rule his next three muhrats after sunset.
